Egyptian Pyramids: The Mysterious Air Shafts

Some initial theories
You will find different theories regarding the air shafts from explorers of different centuries. M. Maillet - an explorer from the 16th century referred to the shafts (of the king’s chamber as that time only those were discovered) as the way to communicate with the people who were buried alive in the pyramid. He explains the basic purpose of the shafts to be the conduit of air and food supplies.
However, Greaves had a different theory about these shafts. According to his hypothesis, the shafts were considered as the way of receiving the eternal lamp. This theory was developed based on the presence of lampblack in the shafts. Mostly the purpose of the shafts was described as the ventilation system but gradually the idea changed. The more recent interpretation of this particular feature of the pyramid is more related with spiritual issues.
Hidden door
The mystery of air shafts basically spin around the Gizza pyramid where one of the most famous ruler or Pharaoh Khufu was buried. The air shafts located in the king’s chamber was found in the 16th century. Later in the 18th century the shaft of the queen’s chamber was discovered.
Despite researchers have different opinions about the basic purpose of these air shafts, the most common and strongly backed theory is that the shafts were made for the soul of the dead to go out. This is most likely because of the culture of the ancient Egyptians has been proven to follow this ritual when they buried the dead.
